The longest beard ever was grown by Hans Langseth of Norway, whose whiskers stretched an incredible 5.33 m (17 6 in) when measured upon his death in Kensett, Iowa, in 1927. The beard was presented to the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, in 1967.

Greatest Weight Loss (Male)
After following a strict diet plan, Jon Brower Minnoch (USA), who weighed 635 kg (100 st) and was therefore the world's heaviest man, reduced to 216 kg (34 st) by July 1979, thus indicating a weight loss of at least 419 kg (66 st) in 16 months. This averages at 22.05 kg (3 st 9 lbs or 57.75 lbs) a month! The diet consisted of just 1,200 calories a day. Sadly, though, by October 1981, the former taxi driver had put on over 89 kg (34 st), undoing all his good work. When he died on September 10, 1983, he weighed more than 362 kg (57 st).
Largest Gall Bladder
On March 15, 1989, at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, Prof. Bimal C. Ghosh removed a gallbladder weighing 10.4 kg (23 lb) from a 69-year-old woman.
Most Blood Donated
Maurice Creswick of South Africa donated his 336th unit of blood on July 9, 2003. Having made whole-blood donations since his 18th birthday in 1944, he has given the equivalent of 188.9 litres (41.5 gal/49 US gal) – or nearly four full bathtubs of blood!
